Why private classes?

  • You want to feel fewer aches and pains or get some help with back and joint pain.

  • You haven’t exercised regularly for a while and would like to build up your confidence before joining a group class.

  • Your physiotherapist, osteopath or doctor has recommended that you try Pilates.

  • You want to stay fit and active as you get older and are looking for a movement practice that will help you do that.

  • You’re looking for some time each week, away from the stresses of daily life, where the focus is on you and what you need.

  • You’ve decided to commit to a regular movement practice and are willing to put the time in to practice at home.


What to expect

Private sessions are tailored to meet your needs. We will agree what you would like to achieve and the sessions will be designed to help you progress at a pace that’s right for you.

I will also set some exercises for you to do at home - a toolkit of movements you can return to whenever you need them.

Your session will comprise a mixture of matwork and equipment exercises depending on what is most appropriate for your needs. The reformer, chair and other Pilates equipment use a spring resistance system which is amazingly versatile and effective.

The springs can be used to assist and support you as you move, ideal if you are just getting back into movement. They can also provide additional challenge when you are ready to start to progressing.


Your £20 introductory session

I offer all clients a discounted introductory session. This is an opportunity for us to meet and for you to see if you would like to continue working with me. We will:

  • Discuss your personal goals and what you would like to achieve with Pilates

  • Review your health questionnaire and any issues I need to be aware of

  • Cover basic Pilates positioning, alignment and exercises

  • Assess your posture and how you are moving.

At the end of the session we will discuss the appropriate next steps for you.

After your introductory session 1-2-1 and duet classes are booked in packages of 3 or 6 sessions.


Prices

For 121 sessions:

  • £50 per hour for 3 sessions redeemed within 6 weeks

  • £45 per hour for 6 sessions redeemed within 12 weeks

  • £40 per hour for 12 sessions redeemed within 9 weeks

For Duets:

  • £55 per hour for 3 sessions redeemed within 6 weeks

  • £50 per hour for 6 sessions redeemed within 12 weeks

  • £45 per hour for 12 sessions redeemed within 9 weeks

All packages are booked and paid in advance. Payment is via bank transfer. Cancellations less than 24 hours in advance will be charged at full price.

Private clients get an 18% discount on pay as you go and matwork class packages.


Timetable and location

1-2-1 and private duets are available by appointment:

  • Monday 1.30pm - 8pm

  • Tuesday 1.30pm - 7pm

  • Wednesday 9am - 5pm

  • Friday 9am - 5pm

Sessions are held in a tranquil private studio on Faversham Road SE6 4XE, less than 10 minutes' walk from Catford and Catford Bridge railway stations. There is free parking on the street.

If you have mobility issues or an injury that prevents you from comfortably walking up and down stairs an alternative venue for your session can be arranged.
